Q. Leaking
from between the hose & Hoselink fitting
A. Check that the white split ring has been installed & installed correctly. The
white split ring must be flush with the end of the hose as per diagram on fitting instructions. The end of the hose
must always be cut straight and NOT at an angle.
Q. Leaking from gap between Hoselink
parts
A. Check that the black O Ring in the face of the product has not dislodged. To
obtain additional O Rings please email us. Please provide your name, address and phone number and we will send
some out to you.
A common reason for
this problem is that the hose has not been correctly fitted - specifically, the White Split Ring is not
positioned correctly - that is, flush with the end of the hose. See the fitting instructions that should have
come with your order. The simplest way to rectify this is to:
Unscrew the yellow (or red) nut.
Place the Hoselink body, that is attached to the hose, onto a hard surface like the
floor, push the hose over the stem as far as it will go, then, with a small screwdriver, push the white split ring
down also as far as it will go. It may require a screw driver on both sides of the split ring because when you push
down one side, the other side pops up.
This will ensure
that everything is positioned as it should be.
Retighten the yellow (or red) nut.
Q. Leaking at the Tap - Possible
reasons
A. Check to see if it is your Tap that is leaking and needs a new washer.
On some taps the Hoselink Tap Connector may have to be screwed
tighter.
Occasionally garden
taps are manufactured out of specification. In these instances it might be necessary to add another washer into
the Hoselink fitting. To obtain an additional washer please email us and we will send one out to
you.
Q. Leaking from Click-On Accessory
Connector
PLEASE NOTE: The Click-on Adaptor (490) is not Hoselink designed or
manufactured, and therefore carries no guarantee. It is ONLY provided for people who have existing
accessories (spray guns/sprinklers) that have the male "click-on" part AND it CANNOT be unscrewed. Most male
"click-on" parts can be unscrewed from most accessories.
Leaking problems experienced with this component, we can do nothing
about - this is the very reason that we designed the totally new Hoselink system! There is a simple solution
- many watering accessories will allow you to unscrew the male click-on adapter, thereby presenting with a
thread. You can then screw it directly onto one of our Hoselink fittings (Hoselink male connector, or
Hoselink Tap Connector, depending on which direction the thread it) Please click here for more detailed explanation of
this.
Q. Leaking
from the Spray nozzle
A.The spray nozzle is also a third party manufactured product however we have found
the nozzles to be very reliable. Occasionally these do leak slightly. This can often be due to sand, soil or grit.
Rinse the nozzle well.
The nozzle may
appear to be leaking, but it may, in fact be the click-on Accessory Adapter.
Q. Damaged Hose A. If the damage is near
the end of the hose it is best to remove the Hoselink Hose Connector, cut out the damaged section and refit the
Hose Connector.
If the damage is near the centre of the hose you can obtain a secure leak free join
by purchasing our Hose Joiner Kit. Don't forget that repaired hose can now be joined to any other Hoselink equipped
hose in your garden by a simple Point and Twist.
