| Guarantee Conditions for Hoselink
Fittings |
We
are very confident that if correctly fitted, your Hoselink Connector will never burst off your
hose! If it does, we will send you
replacement Connectors.
As always, any Guarantee must be
set out in formal terms so here it is.
1. Hoselink Connectors must be correctly fitted as detailed in
the instructions.
2. Any faulty component to be returned to Hoselink must include proof of
purchase.
3. Each or any faulty component will be replaced.
4. This guarantee applies only to Hoselink manufactured components - i.e. the Hose
Connectors, Tap Connectors and Hoselink Male Connectors. Products not manufactured by us such as the 490
"Click-On" Adapter supplied in some kits is not a Hoselink designed or
manufactured product and therefore carries no guarantee.
In regards to this part, we actually
recommend customers do not use the 490 "Click-on" Adaptor, because it is the weak link. This part can be
avoided, by making sure you always purchase watering Accessories that have a thread, rather than the male
“click-on” part. This way you can always screw our Hoselink Male connector directly into any accessory. Please
refer to the fitting instructions in the brochure for more details.
| Things to check to ensure it is fitted
correctly |
Please make sure the Hose has been cut straight and not on an angle. Also make sure the hose
end is not damaged.
-
Please check
that the white Split Ring is located FLUSH with the end of the hose.
-
Ensure the
hose has been pushed down hard over the stem until it will go no further. It will then be located as
per the graphic on the right.
-
Screw the
yellow nut up tightly
-
Finally, please refer to the troubleshooting
page on our website which can be found in Contact us on the left hand side.
| Guarantee Conditions for
Hoses |
Our hoses carry a guarantee period that varies form 6 to 8 years. They are built to
perform well and last a long time.
Therefore, if you look after it you will get many years of good service - possibly more than
the guarantee period. If you do not observe the simple precautions listed below, the hose may last for
much LESS time than the warranty period. Here are the things that if ignored, will void the
warranty:
1. Do not leave the hose in freezing conditions for more than a few occasional hours. If it does freeze,
bring it back to above 2'C before using it. Release the water pressure after use.
2. Do not leave the hose in the sun for extended periods if no water is flowing through it. That is,
after use, put it onto a Hose Hanger in a shaded area, or roll it onto a Hose Reel in a shaded area. Turn
off the tap after use and release the pressure. The hose will still be full of water and that is
fine.
3. Do not permit the hose to lie on the ground/driveway/path for extended periods. Best to put it onto a
Hose Hanger with big loops.
4. Do not use it with liquids other than water.
5. Do not permit the hose to come into contact with corrosive liquids.
Please note that although point 4 seems obvious, Coca-Cola, for instance, contains
phosphoric acid and has a pH of approx 2,4, i.e. more acidity than common vinegar. If Coke is spilled on
the hose and then left in the sun, the hose can suffer damage and a weak spot can form.
