 HOSE REELS

Hose Reel
At www.hoselink.com.au we get many enquiries from owners of Hose Reels asking if Hoselink will fit to their Hose Reel.

All hose reels are different, so its difficult to answer this question with a simple yes or no.

Lets deal with the easiest part first.

On most hose reels there are two lengths of hose. One short length of hose that connects the reel to the tap (Short Hose) and the second is the long hose actually inside the reel (Long Hose).

The 210 or 250 Hoselink Starter Kit will fit out:

  • One end of Short Hose (where the hose connects to the tap); and
  • One end of Long Hose (connecting the spray gun or accessory to the end of the hose)

Thats the easy part - By installing Hoselink at these points you will resolve bursting and leaking problems at these 2 points.

However, many owners point out that where the Short Hose joins the Hose Reel, it also leaks and/or bursts off under pressure. Please read the following carefully to assess whether you can fit Hoselink to the Reel itself, as per the attached pictures.

Firstly, check if the Male Click-On Adapter which connects the hose to the reel, remains stationary when the Reel is being unwound, OR does it turn with the Reel?

1. If it turns with the Reel, then I'm afraid you cannot fit Hoselink connectors at this point (where the Short Hose connects to the Reel). Meaning you are stuck with the existing click-on connector.
2. If it remains stationary, then you can unscrew the Male Click-On Part from your Hose Reel, and SCREW in a 320 Hoselink Tap Connector as per Picture 1. If this is the case you will need to order an additional 310 Tap to Hose Connector.
3. Also, if it remains stationary, and after unscrewing the Male Click-On Part, the Reel presents with a Female Thread, then our 470 Hoselink Male Connector will screw directly into this. If this is the case you will need to order an additional 430 Hose to Accessory Connector.

If you decide that you would like to purchase a professional Hose Reel, then you should consider our 300 Self Retracting Hose Reel (Picture 2). Manufactured in Australia, this reel has been supplied for commercial applications for years and has only recently become available to domestic customers. It also comes fitted with the 250 Ned Kelly Starter Kit.
